Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
In 2018 Philip and Margaret Gray visited Barbados and felt the call of God to establish a Christian school’s ministry. They approached several primary schools to see whether *Great Open Door’s style of ministry, featuring puppets, drama, interactive Bible stories, music and memory verses, would connect with children and schools here on the island of Barbados.
Philip and Margaret Gray were blown away by the enthusiastic response teaching staff and pupils gave to the ministry. Every primary school they visited invited them to return and be part of their worship programme.
As a result WOW Barbados was founded in 2019. WOW represents Words of Wisdom and its programmes are delivered in association with ISCF (Inter-School Christian Fellowship of Barbados).
Children and teachers enjoy the creative, fast paced presentations and appreciate the Words of Wisdom they impart. In fact, so popular are their assembly programmes, that WOW Barbados is actively seeking to recruit more school workers to meet this hunger for the Words of Wisdom found in Jesus Christ.
WOW Barbados continues to visit primary schools across the island sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and teaching pupils positive life lessons and values, such as love, caring and sharing, forgiveness and resilience.
